Dockside
is a departure from the tower-on-townhouses prototype of most current
downtown projects. Acclaimed architect Richard Henriquez' design is
for a European-format seven story single-loaded residential block, with
all living rooms for its 46 cityhomes, citysuites and penthouses on
the water side, its layout devised to maximize harbour views.
Bounded by West
Hastings, Nicola and Broughton Streets, Dockside's design was
created by linking thr rich history of the area to the unique shape
of this building site. As a result, the block-long form of the development
recalls a great ocean liner, enforcing the nautical details also found
on the adjacent Puphouse Park and at the Coal Harbour Community Centre.
