The small community of Anmore is getting a big infusion of luxury, thanks to Bella Terra by the Lake, a development of 26 large single-family homes. But while the homes’ grandeur might draw attention, the legacy behind their interior design is just as significant in that it tells a story of craftsmanship handed from one master to another.

Jason Sorenson, principal of Resolve Interior Concepts, the consultants behind Bella Terra by the Lake, brings to the community’s eight model homes a taste and expertise honed from years of experience — including time with Robert Ledingham and Mitchell Freedland, masters of West Coast interior design.

Through his work with these design leaders, who have forged their own reputations on a national and global scale, Sorenson adopted the principles that guided him in his work at Bella Terra by the Lake: be mindful of a building’s architecture and respect the deep connection between the homes’ interior and exterior spaces.
“Introducing interior elements that contribute in a respectful way to the overall esthetic of the design intent is something I continue to strive for in my work,” says Sorenson.

“It’s important that the overall design, interior and exterior, is cohesive and timeless.”

Bella Terra by the Lake offers three interior design schemes, varying from the clean white and grey “Platinum”, to the warmer “Cappuccino” and “Carbone” schemes, the latter of which embodies a masculine esthetic, he says. “Each offers a cohesive distinct appeal, allowing the client to customize their new home to their taste.”

A commitment to detail in everything from millwork to the stone of a countertop — along with a vision of exteriors and interiors as inextricably connected — inspires professionals like Sorenson to specialize in custom design.

“In bespoke design, there is a level of expectation from the client that raises the bar. It’s a challenge that I really enjoy,” he says.

“To build anything of value takes vision, energy, and the right resources. This, with the client’s collaboration, aligns to create beautiful, well-resolved spaces that reflects the home owner’s individuality and style.”
This community marks Sorenson’s first partnership with Christen Luxury Homes, the builder behind the project. The attention to detail he’s seen in the builder’s previous work gave him great confidence in the company’s work, so he was more than happy to join the team, he says.
“This same level of quality is something that I aspire to in my work, so working on this project has felt like a natural fit.”
